3 Week Aftercare - Studex Advanced Review
Piercing aftercare is something I talk a lot about on my YouTube channel.. especially all the different types out there. I’ve been asked a few times about the very popular, three-week Rapid Aftercare that Claire's and Piercing Pagoda sells.
Something that you may not know is that Claire’s and Piercing Pagoda’s aftercare is actually made by a brand called Studex. This three-week aftercare aka the Studex Advanced, is different from their traditional aftercare (You know the little white bottle that comes in a goodie bag.. Studex Advanced is different).
What makes Studex Advanced different is that it has a special formula that claims that you can change your earrings in three weeks. Normal healing time for ear lobe piercing is typically six weeks.
I recently pierced my ears and I was able to try Studex Advanced so here’s my review!
So, what exactly is Studex Advanced?
Studex Advanced is 2-In-1 Piercing Aftercare and Cleanser.
It offers a three-week healing time for your ear piercings.
It is dermatologist and pediatrician tested.
It is a non-irritant.
It has a non-toxic formula.
There's no benzalkonium chloride
There's also no oils, no steroids, and no antibiotics.
According to the Amazon listing, it helps cleanse, calm, and repair the skin. You'll notice that the Studex Advanced does come in a spray form, which in my opinion, is the best type of aftercare because it makes it very convenient to use and it's also less messy.
What makes the Studex Advanced different is the fact that it has an ingredient called hypochlorous. The hypochlorous in the Studex Advanced mimics our body's natural way of producing hypochlorous that's within our white blood cells and allows our skin to heal and repair itself.
HOW DO YOU USE STUDEX ADVANCED?
As far as how you use the Studex Advanced, you simply spray it on your piercing. Spray it on the front of your piercing, spray it on the back of your piercing… twice a day.
MY EXPERIENCE WITH STUDEX ADVANCED
I pierced my ears on October 5th… It is now October 28th, and I can say that I was able to take my earrings out and successfully put them back in.
The only thing is, my ears are still a bit sensitive. It could be because I keep getting my mask caught on to my earrings which is irritating my piercings, causing them to not heal 100%.
For now, I'm going to leave my new piercings alone. I'm going to keep my earrings in and I'm still going to continue to use the Studex Advanced.
I can say that the Studex Advanced has helped take away the itchy feeling my piercings get from time to time and has an immediate soothing effect.
